As a third-generation, family owned and operated collection of auto dealerships, the David R. McGeorge Car Company has been a growing part of the Richmond community for more than 60 years. This city has truly shaped who we are and what our business is today. So what better way to give back to thousands of Virginians across the region, than to partner with local philanthropic organizations to help improve and support our community?

Through the McGeorge Cares program, we hope to raise awareness for our valued community partners. Each month, we’ll feature a local community-focused organization and help get Central Virginia residents involved. As always, McGeorge remains committed to helping make Richmond a better place to live, grow and thrive.

Valued Parter for August 2011

Comfort Zone Camp

McGeorge Cares is proud to announce our newest community partner for the month of August, Comfort Zone Camp. Comfort Zone Camp is a non-profit bereavement camp that transforms the lives of children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver. The free camps include confidence-building programs and age-based support groups that break the emotional isolation grief often brings. Because their camps and online resources are offered at no charge, Comfort Zone is 100-percent funded by contributions. This month McGeorge Cares will provide enough funding to send 5 children to attend an upcoming camp. McGeorge Cares hopes to achieve Comfort Zone Camp’s mission to provide grieving children with a voice, a place and a community in which to heal, grow and lead more fulfilling lives.
